Attendance

Just a friendly reminder that it is extremely important for students to come to school on time everyday.  Attendance is their "ticket to success".  Please keep in mind that when students are late to class it is not only disruptive to that student's education, but also to all of the other students in that class who have to wait while the teacher directs the late student and brings him/her up to speed on what the rest of the class is doing.

What research says about attendance

Research states that regular school attendance will enhance the normal progress of students. Therefore, it is imperative that students attend school daily, and are on time.

Whenever students are absent from school, a note explaining the reason for the absence must be sent on the day the student returns to school.

The only excused absences accepted by the state are for illnesses, medical appointments, religious observance, or funeral attendance for an immediate family member.

We encourage you to try and schedule your child's doctor and dental appointments after school hours. If this is not possible, you must check your child out at the main office.

Please be warned that frequent absences by students will trigger an investigation by the district attorney's office.
