100 Mile Club

The 100 Mile Club presents students with a straightforward challenge: run, jog, or walk 100 Miles over the course of the school year.

As students complete 25, 50, 75, and 100 miles they get incentives throughout.

  • 75 miles bracelet
  • 100 miles GOLD MEDAL


*Students need to complete the miles in order to get the incentives

All students participate everyday during the school day in running for the 100 mile club.

Every friday morning if the weather permits students get the opportunity to earn extra miles from 7:00am - 7:30am

Kaiser Partnership

Merlinda Elementary is part of the Adopt a School Program with Kaiser Permanente of Baldwin Park.  Every year Kaiser presents different assembly topics to all grade levels as well as other activities. 

Kindergarten - Hand washing Assembly

First grade - Kaiser Hospital Tour

Second grade - Poison Prevention Assembly

Third grade - Stroke Awareness Assembly

Fourth grade -  Nutrition and Physical Activity Assembly

Fifth grade -  Participate in a Pen pal program with employees from Kaiser Permanente. Throughout the year, students and pen pals write letters to each other and when our school year is close to the end, Kaiser will host our Pen pal luncheon in their facilities!

Sixth grade -  Marijuana more dangerous than you think!
