English Learners

Under the umbrella of the Mission Statement adopted by the West Covina Unified School District, the goals of the Program for English Learners (ELs) shall be to:

1. Provide English learners with challenging curriculum and instruction that maximize the attainment of high levels of proficiency in English.

2. Advance multilingual capabilities.

3. Facilitate student achievement in the district’s regular course of study.

Our English learners are provided differentiated English language development instruction targeted to their English proficiency level, integrated across all subject areas, and aligned with the state content standards.
